The sports docuseries of F1 on Netflix is a huge hit that the OTT signed up to generate more sports content. This became the pillar for ‘Break Point,’ a tennis docuseries that got mixed reviews. The viewers and players expressed mixed feelings about the cameras following them wherever they went and the constant scrutiny. Iga Swiatek recently opened up about how an episode in which she is having a haircut, accompanied by her sports psychologist, Daria Abramowicz, received online hate.
Netizens thought Abramowicz decided to keep the hair short, but the truth is, Swiatek had a problem with long hair. The Pole revealed that her Sports Psychologist does not influence her decisions and that players have no control over how the show makers edit some scenes. Aryna Sabalenka, on the other hand, holds just the opposite view of Swiatek.

The Belarusian defeated Ons Jabeur in the quarter-finals of the Cincinnati Masters. She won in straight sets, 5-7, 3-6, after her disappointing exit in the 2nd round of the Canadian Open. Following the match, Sabalenka was asked about her view on Swiatek’s comments about ‘Break Point.’
The Australian Open champion said makers obey the requirements of players and that they have a say in what goes on the show. Sabalenka said, “I know before episode comes out, you watch it with Netflix on Zoom & you can make this adjustment like, ‘I don’t like this, this.’ You can change this, that, or that.”

The WTA 2nd seed said she had no idea why the Pole did not review it, as players check their episodes before the final airing. She said, “I don’t know, like, why she couldn’t do that when she was checking her episode. I don’t know.”

In an interview with ‘Vogue,’ in January, Swiatek said she liked the outcome of the F1 series. The Pole is an introvert who wants people to know more about her and the game. She hoped to offer fans a glimpse of their hard work and how much tennis means to the players.
Swiatek also revealed that she put in 5 months of thought before signing with the series, as she did not want it to come between her career. When she decided to participate in the show, it was for her country and to promote the sport. But hate found its way, nonetheless. The same Sports Psychologist people hated is behind the Pole’s resilience.
