Yesterday, England prevailed over Germany 2-1 to lift the UEFA Women’s Euro trophy. Reacting to this, Alexis said, “Absolutely a cultural tipping point. Good. It was a dream tournament for the English women’s soccer team. They scripted a brilliant performance to win their first major women’s tournament. Riding on home advantage, England opened the scoring via a 62nd minute strike from Ella Toone.
However, Germany came back strongly, netting in the 79th minute courtesy of Lina Magull. As the match proceeded into extra time, substitute Chloe Kelly poked home a loose ball from a corner in the 110th minute to send English fans roaring.

Serena set to return to action soon
After her disappointing Wimbledon campaign, the 23-time Grand Slam champion will play at the National Bank Open in Toronto, next week. She has already begun her preparations and was seen practicing with sister Venus at the Citi Open in Washington, DC. The latter is participating in the WTA 250 Citi Open.
