Former American tennis star Martina Navratilova is not covering the Australian Open this year. Earlier this year the American revealed that she is not going to attend the Australian Open after the diagnosis of throat and breast cancer.
The 18-time Grand Slam champion was an important part of the Tennis Channel’s commentary panel. While she can’t make it to the studio this time, the 65-year-old interacted with her colleagues on a video call. Navratilova also provided an update about her health.

Interacting with the Tennis Channel, the 18-time Grand Slam champion also gave an update on her treatment. Here’s what she said. “Yeah, ready to go, ready to get on with the treatment. I have had two surgeries and four biopsies, radiation, and chemo are awaiting, but I am ready to go.”
Apart from being a legendary tennis player, Navratilova is also an important tennis commentator and analyst. We hope to see her back in full health soon.
Navratilova’s fans are concerned after the recent health scare of their favorite tennis star. Back in 2010, Navratilova overcame breast cancer and this time again we hope she successfully defeats the deadly disease.
