Following the conclusion of Miami Masters, the action now shifts to clay. The tournaments in Houston, Marrakech, and Charleston on clay are underway this week. While players like Rafael Nadal and Iga Swiatek are set to miss the beginning of the clay season, Bianca Andreescu is eyeing her much-awaited return on the tour on clay.
Bianca missed much of tennis due to injuries and some personal issues. But now she is ready to make a comeback on the tour.

Bianca Andreescu to return at the Stuttgart Open
The young Canadian received a wildcard and will feature at the Stuttgart Open that begins on April 16 in Germany.
In her nascent career so far, the 21-year-old Canadian never had a full season without an injury or issue forcing her to pull out of the tournaments. The 2019 US Open champion missed Miami Open this year after she had to retire mid-match in the final against Ash Barty in 2021.

Subsequently, she also pulled out of Madrid Open after testing positive for Covid-19. Aiming to compete at the French Open, Andreescu returned to action in a tournament at Strasbourg in France. However, pulled out of the tournament after an opening couple of rounds as a precautionary measure owing to abdominal pain. Her journey at Roland Garros came to an end in the very first round. She lost to Tamara Zidansek in a three-set thriller.

The 2019 season was by far the best season for the Canadian player as she defeated Angelique Kerber to win the Indian Wells Masters title and subsequently won the 2019 US Open, defeating Serena Williams in the final.
Now with her return to the tour, her fans will be hoping to witness her regaining her best form and fitness.
Some Young talents have also been given wild card entries alongside Andreescu
Stuttgart Open, WTA 500 level tournament begins on 16th April. Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka will also feature in Stuttgart along with other top players.

German champion Eva Lys and Junior Grand Slam finalist Nastasja Schunk will also get a chance to compete at the Stuttgart Open. They will be joining some other young German Tennis stars like debutant Jule Niemeier.

It remains to be seen how Bianca Andreescu fares on her comeback after a long layoff from the tour.
