Brithday parties are a big deal for many. Sports professionals and other famous personalities love throwing huge parties. However, active players rarely get such opportunities due to traveling worldwide for competitions. Jessica Pegula was caught in this unfortunate situation after her loss in the Dubai Tennis Championships. Fellow American player Coco Gauff reminded Pegula of the fun they had during her birthday celebration on Twitter.
Jessica Pegula faced off against Barbora Krejčíková in the semi-final bout of the Dubai Tennis Championships and lost in a three-setter match. Pegula lost on her birthday after receiving a walkover in the quarterfinal.

Pegula posted a picture on Twitter of her somber situation. She was holding a bag of Doritos chips while looking tired. The world No 3 tennis star said she was going through the aforementioned act while she was waiting for her flight.
She captioned the tweet: “Everyone: “What is it like playing on tour? It must be so amazing!” Me: gets bagled on your birthday, sitting eating Doritos at midnight, waiting to get on a 16 hr flight home.🤣“

Her fellow American player Cori ‘Coco’ Gauff added to the humor of the situation. In response to Pegula’s tweet, Gauff reminded her doubles’ partner of their terrible singing during her birthday celebration. But the cake being good was a consolation, Gauff added.

Pegula’s and Gauff’s friendship
Despite the ten years age gap, Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula are close friends. The two are also tennis doubles partners and recently participated in the Dubai tennis Championships doubles division. The two were ecstatic after their first-round victory, even though they were eliminated in the quarterfinal.

They share a close bond which was seen in a post shared by Gauff on her Twitter handle. Pegula celebrated her 29th birthday on 24th February and received wishes from around the world. Her doubles partner also wished the world number three. Gauff shared a glamorous picture of the two. The picture was taken at the 2022 WTA Finals Gala night.
