Victory can cast a long shadow, especially when you stand beside someone who just won it all. But for Russia’s rising star, Anna Kalinskaya, she isn’t someone to let outside noise shake her determination. As whispers of “pressure” surrounded the WTA star, she didn’t just brush them off but set the record straight. Her sharp response left no room for doubt. So what exactly did the WTA star say?

Kalinskaya’s beau Jannik Sinner successfully defended his 2025 Australian Open title with an impressive win over Alexander Zverev. He performed quite well overcoming all the odds. In his journey, his girlfriend Anna Kalinskaya remained a steadfast support along with his parents. Kalinskaya grabbed the spotlight with her presence in Sinner’s box at Flushing Meadows last year. She motivated her beau throughout the tournament and delighted the fraternity with a romantic kiss with Sinner, right after his 2024 US Open win. However, the Russian WTA star couldn’t physically cheer for the ATP number one, since she was in Singapore for a WTA 250 event. In a media interaction in Singapore, she was asked an interesting question that involved her beau Jannik Sinner. Kalinskaya, who otherwise kept her life private, shed light on her equation with Sinner.

Kalinskaya was asked whether her beau’s recent Grand Slam win added any extra pressure on her career goals given they were tennis power couples. In her response, the Russian WTA star impressed everyone. Refuting the claims of any added “pressure,” Kalinskaya said, “Not at all. I don’t think there’s pressure, it doesn’t change anything.”  Her response although brief, was able to highlight her mentality. Rather than taking her beau’s milestones as a competition, Kalinskaya sought inspiration from it and focused on her respective career objectives. Interstingly, Sinner’s support helped Kalinskaya improve professionally. She entered the 2024 US Open third round for the first time and ended last season as WTA number 14.
