Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, and Mike McCarley, the masterminds of TMRW Sports, have recently announced their newest revolutionary venture. The tech-infused golf league, TGL, is set to launch in January 2024. What’s more? Renowned athletes Serena Williams, Venus Williams, and Alexis Ohanian have joined forces to become team owners. Serena, Venus, and Ohanian are collaborating as the owners of the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC), the first of the six teams in Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy’s TGL organization. This will be Venus’ first step into the world sports investment.

Before this venture, Williams and her husband Ohanian have achieved pioneering success as the principal owners of Angel City FC, a National Women’s Soccer League team in Los Angeles. Now, their ambitious sports portfolio is expanding as they have invested in TGL and created the Los Angeles Golf Club (LAGC). Their involvement indicates their commitment to furthering sports extending beyond traditional boundaries. Serena wrote in the caption of her recent Insta reel, “It’s official! I’m thrilled to announce my involvement with @tglgolf with the launch of @wearelagc – Los Angeles Golf Club.”

The 23-time Grand Slam winner also explained, “An important part of the spirit and purpose of LA Golf Club is making golf our own, for everybody. And I couldn’t be more excited to shape the future of this sport with my family @alexisohanian @olympiaohanian and @venuswilliams.” The club will offer a platform for golf’s top athletes to compete, expend energy, and captivate audiences.
