Former Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova mentioned in one of her interviews earlier this year that she wants Ons Jabeur to win her maiden grand slam title soon. Sharapova believes that Jabeur deserves it because of her hard work in rising through the ranks on the WTA Tour. After making such a wish, Maria Sharapova and Ons Jabeur were finally able to cross paths with one another at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Jabeur is definitely one of the best WTA players in the world, but she has not still won a grand slam title. Even though she has reached the finals thrice, her maiden title is still pending.

In the same season, she made it to the finals of the US Open. However, playing against Iga Swiatek in the Pole’s record-breaking 2022 season proved to be too much for Jabeur, as she lost in straight sets.
