The Mortal Kombat video game franchise dates back to 1992. Following the success of the original video game, more games followed, and they were accompanied by an animated TV series, multiple films, a card game, a comic book series, and a live-action tour as well. The franchise garnered millions of fans around the world. Alexis Ohanian happened to be one of them.

In his tweet, Ohanian wrote, “The legacy of MK is a testament to the power of bold creativity. Despite its controversies, or perhaps bc of them, it has stood the test of time.” This statement referred to the controversy generated by the game owing to its depiction of violence.

Ohanian went on to write about how Mortal Kombat “continues to be a beloved franchise”. He also added, “I keep multiple graded copies of this game (SNES + Genesis) in my @Altxyzofficial vault”. Truly, the franchise couldn’t have asked for a more loyal and devoted fan than Ohanian.
