World Number eight, Belinda Bencic had the privilege to share the tennis court multiple times with her legendary compatriot, Roger Federer during the Australian Summer event, Hopman Cup. The WTA ladies envy Bencic as she slams the tennis ball alongside Federer and to most of the professionals that action of tennis seems unreal.
“The first week of the season in Australia was the best one for me. And I was naturally envied by all the other players as I was able to compete there with Roger. I always replied, I was just born in the correct country,” said Belinda Bencic.
Most of the WTA professionals dream about playing mixed-doubles matches with Roger Federer someday, and Belinda Bencic is fortunate enough to share the court with him on multiple occasions, “playing with Roger Federer was incredible”, this is how she describes teaming up with the Swiss maestro.

She holds high esteem for Roger Federer and the 20-time Grand Slam champion helped her out in the several domains of the sport. “Martina Hingis and Roger Federer made me believe anything is possible, even in a small country like Switzerland. I looked up to them and they really opened the way for the next generations,” Belinda Bencic once mentioned.

Belinda Bencic is delighted to play tennis with both Federer and Hingis and certainly is privileged to share the court with such legends. “Playing doubles with each of them, it’s unreal. It’s hard to realize at that moment just how amazing it is,” she added.
Bencic also remembers Federer’s first Grand Slam win. “I can’t remember the first tennis match I watched but I, of course, watched Roger win Wimbledon for the first time in 2003. After he won, I saw the trophy and it was so beautiful. I found it fascinating,” she said.
Having won two titles this season, one at Dubai Open and other in at Kremlin Cup, Belinda Bencic reserved her berth at WTA Tour Finals 2019 in Shenzhen. Unfortunately, she pulled from the semi-finals while playing against the defending champion Elina Svitolina due to a right hamstring injury.

This year, Bencic made her personal best run at a Grand Slam after she reached the semi-finals of US Open 2019.
