Nothing is more expensive than the fandom of Rafael Nadal and Carlos Alcaraz! As the Paris Olympics hit full swing, fans are scrambling desperately to snag tickets to see their icons play on the center court. But despite their best efforts, many are met with nothing but disappointment. The latest to join the fray of disappointed supporters? None other than billionaire tennis player Jessica Pegula.
Jessica Pegula desired to watch the quarterfinal match of the men’s doubles at Court Philippe Chatrier as compatriots Austin Krajicek and Rajeev Ram took over the Spanish dream pair of Carlos Alcaraz and Rafael Nadal. But despite her status as a renowned player and a billionaire individual, she failed to get a seat in the front row of the stadium.
Taking to X on Wednesday, Pegula expressed the troubles she faced as a spectator. Sharing a picture of herself in the crowd, she wrote, “when you’re trying to watch your team play but it’s nadal/alcaraz and there’s no seats ” For the unversed, the American star has won a career prize money of over $9 million, while her father, Terry Pegula is ranked as the 128th richest person in the US with a net worth of nearly $7 billion, as of March this year. Terry is the owner of the NFL franchise, Buffalo Bills.

While Pegula’s generous funds came to no use in finding her a comfortable seat during the match, her tweet reflects the admiration that she has for the Spaniards despite being a supporter of the opposite team. And this is not the first time when the WTA star has expressed such sentiments for the Spanish sensations, especially Rafael Nadal.
Ahead of the French Open this year, Jessica Pegula engaged in an interview with The French Connection Podcast and expressed her admiration for Rafa. “I am a big Rafa fan. It’s been sad the last year, because I just want him to be able to finish however he wants and on his terms. Being able to win the French Open that many times, the most physical slam and most demanding. It’s just unbelievable.”
While Pegula is enjoying the men’s doubles match, her own partnership with Coco Gauff seems to be dwindling.

Jessica Pegula and Coco Gauff fail to win big yet again
Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula have been doubles partners for a long time. But despite their close bond and the incredible partnership, they have failed to achieve much recently, as their campaign once again came to a disheartening end at the Paris Olympics.
Gauff and Pegula lost to Czech duo Karolina Muchova and Linda Noskova 2-6, 6(10)-4(5), in a match tiebreaker. They were one of the favorite pairs for the title and this loss came as a major setback for their fans, with many of them now asking them to split up.

Meanwhile, Gauff and Pegula admitted that their performance was not up to the mark. “We were playing well,” Gauff said. “Both of them (Muchova and Noskova) just played a better tiebreaker,” the 20-year-old added. The pair also failed miserably at the quarterfinals of the recently concluded Wimbledon. However, Gauff clinched the doubles title when she partnered with Katerina Siniakova during Pegula’s absence at the French Open.
As the season progresses, it remains to be seen if the duo can win big together or split up to explore more about their games.
