Serena Williams’ heartfelt tribute to her friend Roger Federer
The 23-time grand slam champion recently retired after playing her last grand slam tournament, the US Open. It was an emotional ride for the player as well as her fans. However, she was not ready to bid farewell to her friend and tennis legend, Roger Federer.
Williams took to Instagram to hail the player and stated, “I wanted to find the perfect way to say this, as you so eloquently put this game to rest – perfectly done, just like your career.” She expressed her admiration for the player. “You inspired countless millions and millions of people – including me – and we will never forget,” she said.

She stated, “I have always looked up to you and admired you. Our paths were always so similar, so much the same…” The legendary American perfectly ended her tribute by saying, “Welcome to the retirement club. And thank you for being you @rogerfederer“
