It’s not just at the present that the famous Williams sisters, Venus and Serena Williams, turn heads with their fashion. Remember how young they were when they made their entry into the tennis circuit? They were around 14 years old, and it seems they have been fashion icons from the moment they stepped into the tennis circuit. Want a proof? Well, Reilly Opelka’s reaction on their old photos should be enough to settle the debate, if there is any! What prompted Opelka to gush at the deadly duo of tennis?

Remember 1997, when both sisters were active on the tennis circuit. Though Serena was yet to win the Grand Slam, it was a big year for the older Williams sister. In 1997, Venus became the first unseeded player in the Open era to reach the finals of the US Open, marking a big start to her glorious career.

As the sisters are evolving away from tennis now, a fan account VenusxSerena shared a throwback snippet from their time on the court in 1997. In one of the pictures, Venus and Serena are dressed in white, with their then-iconic hairstyle (white beads in the hair) sitting beside each other. While in the next few pictures, they have walked down the court, talking and smiling. And the sisters’ memories certainly blew their friend Opelka away, as he commented, “First pic is epic,” before he went on to share the same snippet on his Instagram story.

However, this was not the first time the Williams sisters’ fashion, particularly Venus’ fashion, blew Opelka away. Back in June earlier this year, during the Milan Fashion Show of Prada’s summer 2025 menswear collection, the Williams sisters caught attention with their stunning appearances. Venus Williams donned a white and silver outfit, while Opelka, who was there too, opted for a brown and white ensemble. Moreover, Venus shared a picture of the event with Opelka by her side, making tennis fans gush, and also giving life to the dating rumors.

Though the older Williams sister has denied the rumors, their off-the-court affection has brought those rumors to life time and again. And once the turf was not a fashion week, but the US Open!

The Williams sisters certainly don’t need a red carpet to dress up and a ramp to walk on. Whenever and wherever they dress up, the path they walk becomes the ramp. This happened during the US Open 2023 when Venus donned an ultra-luxurious outfit and walked across the US Open complex, dressed in a Willy Chavarria (the brand she owns) jacket coupled with an Alaia skirt and Prada shoes.

One cannot forget the Wilson racquet (kit) bag in one hand and the Prada bag in the other, with Prada sunglasses. And Reilly Opelka couldn’t keep calm! When Venus posted this picture on her Instagram account, her look and style blew Opelka away, as he commented, “Rock n roll star.” And Williams did rock the look with confidence!

Though that was last year, the Opelka and Venus duo seems to be doing great even now, whether being friends or maybe something more. Well, till the two are happy, fans are certainly more than happy with every development!
