Serena Williams‘ off-white, zebra-striped outfit featured a crop top and skirt in the 2019 French Open. It was Abloh who had designed the outfit for her. Abloh remained in awe of Serena and considered her not just a tennis player, but a leader for future generations.

This wasn’t Virgil’s only design with Serena Williams. He had also designed her comeback outfit after her catsuit controversy at the 2018 French Open.

Virgil had also designed a flashy pair of Air Jordans for ‘His Majesty’ Roger Federer back in 2017, for the US Open. Titled ‘Virgil Abloh x Nike Air Jordan 1’, the shoes had created headlines.
