18-year-old Emma Raducanu has earned a huge name at the US Open 2021. The British star player has caused quite a few upsets and is now in the quarter-finals of the major. She recently defeated Shelby Rogers in the pre-quarters to enter into her maiden Grand Slam quarter-finals.
In a recent press conference at the US Open 2021, Emma Raducanu disclosed that Andy Murray is a big inspiration for him. She mentioned that the 3-time Grand Slam winner has achieved a lot in his career with his incredible skills.
“Andy is such an inspirational person to look up. The amount that he’s achieved, the amount he can do with his racquet and skill. To have him like sometimes believe in me, support me, I think it means a lot to have had someone like that,” said Raducanu in the press conference.

Raducanu clearly hailed Murray as one of the legends of the sport. She stated that his support means a lot to her. Intriguingly, she was just 10-years-old when Murray won his only US Open title.

Emma Raducanu reveals her experience of having a chat with Virginia Wade

In the same press-conference, Raducanu also talked about her meeting with tennis legend, Virginia Wade. She highlighted that it was an honor for her to chat with the 3-time Grand Slam champion and Virginia also gave her some valuable tips.
“Also today had Virginia Wade in the front row. I saw her, spoke to her a little bit after the match. It was just really cool to be able to speak to such legends, get their tips on a couple things,” added the World No.150 player.

Emma Raducanu will now play against Tokyo Olympics 2020’s Gold medalist Belinda Bencic in the quarters of the US Open 2021. Fans have really high expectations from and want her to deliver an exceptional performance there. Will she be able to conquer New York in her very first attempt?
