Both Elina Svitolina and Gael Monfils have rediscovered their grit since their French Open run. Gael Monfils has now started off his US Open swing with an astounding victory over the new American tennis favorite, Christopher Eubanks, at the Canadian Open. However, the joy of no victory seems to surpass his love and admiration for his newborn daughter, Skai. The new father loves hanging out with his daughter and does not mind even if his wife is not around them all the time.

The former World No.6 captured his countrymen’s hearts with his grueling performance at the French Open. However, his run was cut short because of an injury at a critical juncture. Nonetheless, at the end of the day, it is the off-court time he gets to spend with his daughter that he cherishes the most.

Monfils’ Canadian Open run has got off to a good start. The French player secured a decisive three-set victory over American breakout player Christopher Eubanks. But before this, his run at the Citi Open was cut short after his third-round match, while his wife Elina Svitolina remained busy till the quarter-finals.

However, as Mama Svitolina was busy with her on-court action, Papa Monfils had a gala time with their newborn daughter, Skai. During his Canadian Open press conference, he stated, “It was too good. It’s the next chapter. It’s tomorrow, I feel.” He narrated how his loved ones want him to excel, but his world revolves around his daughter. He stated, “My team & wife, everyone wants me to keep playing. But when I spend time with my daughter, this is it. This is it for me.”

Baby Skai’s proud parents have been pushing themselves to give their best on as well as off the court. However, along with that, they remember where their life’s core priorities lie. Hence, Svitolina let people in on a few traits that she would want Skai to imbibe from her.
