Pickleball Slam is returning for the next season, but this time with a twist! In Pickleball Slam 1, it was Andre Agassi and Andy Roddick playing against John McEnroe and Michael Chang, but for Slam 2, it was only Agassi and McEnroe who were constant. It’s none other than Maria Sharapova and Steffi Graf who are ready to add charm to the second season of the event.

While Graf will partner with her husband, Agassi, both of them are ready to take over the Slam. Recently, the doting husband talked about what motivated the 22-time Grand Slam champion to start playing the sport. He also talked about how, for the first time, things were quite different in his life in terms of learning and growing on the court.

Last year, the 53-year-old tennis legend took home the Pickleball Slam title with Andy Roddick, and this year he is ready to give his all to his wife. Recently, in a video uploaded by the official Pickleball Slam page, the dotting couple shared their sides of the story regarding how they connected to the sport. In that video, Agassi talked about how he convinced his wife to participate in the second Slam.

He said, “It’s not a hard thing to convince her, she was there last year and she just saw me to commit to something in last year’s Pickleball Slam one, that was way out of my comfort zone. I gotta say I was really taken a leap. Never played pickle before, tried learning in a few months and terrible weather, we had a winner here in Vegas.”

Along with that, he highlighted how there were probably a lot of reasons why she needed to participate in the event, starting from the way he practiced to having a blast on the court. He stated, “And I went out there and had a blast. She saw that first dance so I think that was probably all the convincing she needed.”

Even last year, when Graf came to support her husband, just for the moment she also stepped on the court and enjoyed a bit, so it won’t be wrong to say that the couple are already into playing pickleball.
