Growing into the realm of racquetball sport, pickleball is now establishing itself as a sensation sweeping the US. Recently, the sport made its way to a reality show on the big screen on a well-liked reality television program ‘The Real Housewives of Potomac’.
Even though racquetball is becoming more and more popular while taking over tennis courts, it has now advanced to a new level. Well, this is not the first time Pickleball has made it into the TV but it is a great achievement VP of marketing Erika Spalding says.

The American reality show The Real Housewives of Potomac is quite popular and in one of the recent episodes of the show, the actresses will be seen playing the sport! The professional players of the DC pickleball team, Shelby Bates and Amanda Hendry, were the ones who trained the first-time pickleball players for the minute-and-a-half segment in the show. Along with that, Erika Spalding, the VP of Marketing, also talked about the reason behind having the sport on the show.

She stated, “While reality TV wasn’t on our brand’s radar, our vision is to spread the joy of pickleball nationwide, and TV is a great way to get the word out.” Not only that, but for the special shoot, a pickleball court in Columbia was turned into a TV set when Bravo TV reached out to them.

While the war between tennis and pickleball is not ending anytime soon, the rising sport has received a boost while making its popularity quite known in the US.
While the sport is becoming a household name in the US, the TV appearance does not only explain that it is a trending sport but is also a full-on entertainment hit. Nevertheless, just a few months ago, the sport also got a massive boost from two prominent sporting organizations ringing alarm bells for the game of tennis.

Pickleball found a massive boost in the sporting arena
Just a few months ago, the major league pickleball and the Carvana PPA tour announced great news to come up as a pickleball organization. After weeks of disagreement, both leagues decided to come together. It wouldn’t be wrong to say that the professional people’s ball is getting a major makeover.
In this merger, the significant part is the backdrop of key players like SC Holdings and Tom Dundon, who are also the owners of the PPA Tour. In addition, Dundon believes that this new business will create items specifically for the sport, such as regulations for TV game broadcasts and sponsorship opportunities for individual matches. However, given the explosive growth currently underway, the rivalry between pickleball and tennis is far from over.
