After a year filled with highs and lows, tennis stars Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa continue to showcase their resilience. Each had an impressive season on their own. Tsitsipas clinched a title at Monte-Carlo and finished 11th in the ATP rankings. Badosa, overcoming a season riddled with injuries, triumphed at Washington DC and ended her year ranked No. 12 in the WTA standings. Despite battling a stress fracture in her lower back that sidelined her for much of 2023, she refused to give up. Her hard work paid off, and the rewards were undeniably sweet.
On December 14, the WTA’s X account celebrated Badosa’s tenacity with a tweet: “Simply Resilient 🌟 A big round of applause for @paulabadosa, your 2024 Comeback Player of the Year!” Her season started slowly, marred by early exits until Wimbledon. However, she bounced back with vigor, capturing the Washington title and reaching the later stages of major tournaments like the Cincinnati Open and the US Open.
As Badosa basked in her well-deserved recognition, her biggest cheerleader couldn’t contain his pride. Tsitsipas retweeted the post, expressing, “My dear Paula, you’ve worked so hard and shown such resilience to reestablish yourself as a top player this year, and I couldn’t be prouder of you for winning the WTA Comeback Player of the Year award. As someone once famously said, ’Spanish never die’ 🇪🇸” Since their relationship began in 2023, Tsitsipas has been a steadfast support for Badosa.

In interviews, Badosa often praises Tsitsipas for being there during her toughest moments. “He has been there in almost all my bad moments and has been a great support for me,” she says. The couple isn’t shy about sharing their love online either. They frequently post about their short breaks between tournaments and show up for each other’s matches. Even when apart—like when Tsitsipas couldn’t attend Badosa’s Billie Jean King Cup match due to his alternate position at the ATP Finals—he sent her bouquets of flowers and heartfelt messages.

Recently, Tsitsipas promised fans an exciting one-on-one match with Badosa. Unfortunately, “technical difficulties” led to its cancellation. Still, this dynamic duo managed to bring joy to their fans, proving that while their match may have been postponed, their ability to uplift spirits remains as strong as ever!
‘Tsitsidosa’ makes it up to fans with an adorable date-night post
Paula Badosa has once expressed her gratitude for Stefanos Tsitsipas, saying, “He brought me the happiness, support, and fresh air that I needed so much at that time. I felt very happy to have light in my life during such a dark time.” They always know how to turn the frown upside down. And recently, while excitement buzzed around a planned one-on-one match between them, Tsitsipas dropped some bad news. Taking to his Instagram stories to announce, “Unfortunately due to a last-minute technical difference we have to postpone our match tomorrow with Paula, but rest assured we will make it happen soon and make the wait worth it…”

Despite the change in plans, the couple didn’t let it dampen their spirits. Their fan page shared a delightful photo of them enjoying Italian delicacies at LUNAROSSA restaurant in Dubai. Both tennis stars beamed with joy as they admired their enormous pizzas adorned with their names. It was a perfect Dubai date, and fans loved seeing these charming moments from their favorite tennis couple.
When it comes to playing tennis together, Tsitsipas once revealed, “I bring the best out of my tennis with her when I practice … I honestly don’t even mind if she beats me. I want her to beat me. That means she’s getting better, and I want her to have an incredible career and reach world No. 1.” He playfully added his own competitive edge by teasing, “My goals are to surpass Paula’s best ranking, which is world number two, and to get better than that.” Together, they aspire to reach the pinnacle of the sport.
