Novak Djokovic‘s dominance in 2023 makes him the undisputed GOAT, but this year was not that great. However, while some of his fans consider him the same, things have recently gotten heated about the same issue. Recently, the 24-time Grand Slam champion’s fans bullied an ex-pro, Andrea Petkovic, into admitting he’s the GOAT over a debate on social media.

Recently, a fan named, Chris Nolen took to his X handle to share a question for the 36-year-old German player. He wrote, “@andreapetkovic – can you help us understand your thinking? You’re usually on point. Djokovic coming back from the brink of death on one leg in two matches that together lasted over 9 hours vs. Iga’s entire RG run lasting over the same 9 hours are two completely different things no?”

On the other hand, Petkovic replied, “The comparison is that some players are just that much better. novak on one leg, not a hundred percent, is still better than a lot of young talent we have. that‘s why he‘s the GOAT. if he had been fit he would have demolished most of the field and nobody would have complained.” 

It all started when the tennis player dropped a statement highlighting how Djokovic matches are more in demand than WTA matches. She said, “I never heard anybody complain when nearly 40-yo Novak Djokovic beats young talents on one leg because he’s that good but when a woman cruises … suddenly WOMEN’S TENNIS IS BORING.” 

While clarifying the doubt of the fan, she not only called the Serbian tennis player a GOAT but changed her stance to how he is better than most young players out there. In addition, the former world number one is adamant that he will not call himself the “greatest of all time,” even though he has more Grand Slam singles victories than any other male tennis player in tennis history.

However, earlier this year, the popular American actor Matthew McConaughey, called out the 24-time Grand Slam champion as ‘The GOAT.’

Actor Matthew McConaughey probably thought, “Alright, alright, alright,” after the Serb wrapped up his second straight, enthralling five-set victory at Roland Garros. The famous person, who used to be known as X on Twitter, expressed his opinions about Djokovic’s most recent resurgence.

“The GOAT. More than a mental machine. @DjokerNole,” McConaughey posted. In the past, too, the actor has consistently backed the player ranked #1 in the PIF ATP Rankings. In the 2023 US Open final, McConaughey had a prominent presence in Djokovic’s player box. Therefore in this same match, the tennis player won his 24th Grand Slam championship.
