Each time Serena Williams walked into Arthur Ashe Stadium at the 2022 US Open, the spectators showed their relentless and unwavering support. All cheered on for her, hoping for the great champion to end her career on a high, tasting glory for one last time. However, the miracle wasn’t going to happen. Ajla Tomljanovic defeated Williams 7-5, 6-7(4), 6-1 in the third round. Quite naturally, all the spotlight and attention were centered around that match.

In the recently released teaser of the upcoming Netflix tennis docuseries Break Point Part 2, Ajla Tomljanovic is seen talking about the pressure and flurry of other emotions she had to experience in the lead-up to her match against Serena Williams at the US Open. “Nobody wants me to win… If she’s playing her best, nobody can beat her”,?she was filmed saying in the teaser as part of the docuseries.

It wasn’t surprising that she had to face the wrath of the fans. But it was never Tomljanovic or the other opponents the fans were against, it was Serena who they are fiercely rooting for.
