Rybakina stunned her fans and the whole tennis fraternity after dropping a great performance against Victoria Azarenka at the Miami Open tournament today. Following this victory, Rybakina moves forward to the tournament’s finals. In this match against Azarenka, Rybakina surprised the fraternity with one more exclusive thing, which was her controlled expression on the court.

Rybakina previously mentioned admiring the Swiss tennis legend, Roger Federer. Now fans can tell that Federer was popular for maintaining a grounded and cool physical expression on the court. Post victory against Azarenka, an interviewer asked Rybakina about her maintained and poised on-court attitude. The interviewer also mentioned whether this Kazakhstani WTA star models her attitude like her idol Federer since an emotionless presence gives her leverage over the opponent. However, grounded Rybakina’s response again delighted her fans’ hearts. She commented- “I think it’s just the character, but also if sometimes you can notice that I’m also negative. Of course I need to maybe bring more positive energy and to show the opponent.”

Rybakina further stated her difficulties with the ongoing Miami Open tournament. She mentioned that consciously she didn’t want to be negative on the court. In Rybakina’s words- “I think this tournament, as I said, it’s just such difficult for me physically that the only thing I was thinking not to be negative, because first matches I was a little bit. Now I knew that I cannot lose energy on these kind of things.”

However, this Kazakhstani WTA star wished to focus on her game and remain calm to get through the tough match against Azarenka. In fact, her plans worked out well as she bagged her victory against Azarenka.

How did Elena Rybakina bag her victory against Victoria Azarenka at the ongoing Miami Open tournament?

This Russian-born Kazakhstani tennis player defeated Victoria Azarenka by 6-4,0-6,7-6 and 7-2 earlier today to enter the Miami Open tournament’s finals. This is the second time for Rybakina to reach the Miami Open tournament’s finals. The match was very tense since from the beginning Azarenka charged Rybakina aggressively. The humid condition of Miami was also making it difficult for Rybakina. However, the WTA star still managed to pull off her way to the finals of the tournament.

After defeating Azarenka, Rybakina commented- “The first set was really on the limit for me and I was pushing myself. I was serving well but then I knew the energy might go down and I stayed a bit on the court, which was a mistake because it’s really humid and Vika came very aggressive, she started to play so well, Physically I haven’t been at my best this tournament and I knew if I was negative there is no chance for me to win any match and honestly, I didn’t have any energy to cheer myself up and show it to the box.”
