Serbian tennis legend Novak Djokovic almost dodged a bullet yesterday. After his victory against Mautet in Rome, he met a terrible accident making the whole tennis community anxious about his health. Nevertheless, following his indomitable spirit, Djokovic later released a statement about his health with an eagerness to perform for tomorrow. Among all of his fans and well-wishers, former tennis legend Martina Navratilova drops reactions amid sharing a relieved feeling for Djokovic.

Martina Navratilova took her official X (formerly Twitter) to respond to the unfortunate accident of Novak Djokovic. Sharing the Tennis Letter’s clip, this former legend wrote- “Glad Novak is ok….yikes!” This Serbian legend was playing against Corentin Moutet at Rome’s clay court yesterday. Post-victory when he was signing autographs, one water bottle fell from his fan’s backpack and directly hit him in the head. The world’s number-one tennis star was spotted momentarily collapsing at the spot when the one trout committee member/guard comforted him. Djokovic’s accident shook the internet by storm leaving his fans anxious about his health.

The Serbian tennis God released a statement to ease the concern of his fans. Taking the platform of  X (formerly Twitter), Djokovic wrote- “Thank you for the messages of concern. This was an accident and I am fine resting at the hotel with an ice pack. See you all on Sunday.”

Nevertheless, the Italian Open tour committee also shared their bits about the situation- “He underwent appropriate medication and has already left the Foro Italico to return to his hotel; his condition is not a cause for concern.”

Djokovic, who is known to never disappoint fans with post-match autographs, is already gearing up for his game next Sunday.
While the whole tennis fraternity went into slight panic mode, they were delighted to see his amazing performance against Moutet yesterday. Since it was Djokovic’s match after he lost the semifinals of the Madrid, fans were looking forward to see him play. Despite winning, Djokovic reveals his challenges during the match.

Novak Djokovic shines bright against Moutet despite taking ” a little time to adjust”

Starting a bit slow yesterday, the world’s number-one tennis player still managed to grab a victory by 6-3 and 6-1 against Corentin Moutet. Post-victory, Djokovic said- “I played a lefty and I have not practised with a lefty in a while, so it took me a little time to adjust to the different rotations of the ball. The first four games were quite bad from me. A bad start. I lost both my services games. But then I played well. I only lost one game from 1-3 down.

He further added, “Corentin is a very talented player. He has great hands and is very unpredictable. You don’t know what comes up next, so I had to stay focused, which I did and it is a good opening match.”

Martina Navratilova’s message about Djokovic’s accident represented the love the whole tennis fraternity has for the Serb. Nevertheless, fans are waiting for him to unleash his next magic against Alejandro Tabilo tomorrow.
