Remember when Katie Boulter playfully called out fiancé Alex de Minaur during the Australian Open in January? “Stop trying to thirst trap. You have a fiancée,” she cheekily commented. All he did was post a photo mid-swing, but Katie wasn’t letting that slide! Fast forward two months, and the banter continues from the Brit’s side. As Alex dazzles on the red clay of Monte Carlo, Katie is back at it with her signature wit, lighting up social media once more. As fans admired the Aussie’s game, Katie couldn’t resist teasing him again, proving that their love story comes with a side of sass and charm. But what did she say?
Alex de Minaur delivered his most commanding performance of the season at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, stunning 11th seed Daniil Medvedev with a dominant 6-2, 6-2 victory. Showcasing razor-sharp precision and relentless baseline power, the 10th seed dismantled Medvedev’s game, breaking him in seven out of eight service games: a feat few have achieved. And, with this emphatic win, the 26-year-old not only surged into the QFs for the second year running but also etched his name in history as the first Australian in 45 years to achieve back-to-back QFs appearances at Monte Carlo.
Alongside compatriot Alexei Popyrin, De Minaur is making it a golden chapter for Aussie tennis on clay. But while he makes headlines on court, his fiancée Katie Boulter is stealing hearts off it. The Brit brought her playful humor to the spotlight, affectionately poking fun at De Minaur’s form and flair.

Fresh off his monumental win against Medvedev on the red clay of Monte Carlo, Alex De Minaur took to IG to share a striking image of his mid-fist pump, radiating passion and grit. Captioning it with the cryptic and spirited phrase “Step by step 🧱👀 QF 🔜 @rolexmontecarlomasters,” the Aussie had his fans buzzing, but not before Katie Boulter, jumped in with a playful comment. The 26-year-old Brit teased her fiancé, writing, “Not sure the short shorts are a win tho,” much to the delight of their fans.

This isn’t the first time Boulter’s swagger has come to the core. Just about last month, she hilariously stirred things up online with an X post that read: “Get married 🟰 win slam Have a baby 🟰 win 500 📝 📝📝📝📝📝📝📝📝,” Fans were quick to connect the dots, especially with De Minaur competing at the ATP 500 ABN AMRO Open in Rotterdam, where he was just one match away from the title.
De Minaur’s response to it was absolute gold as well.“You got any ideas you wanna share with me???😅😂” he wrote. The back-and-forth not only charmed tennis lovers but revealed the unique camaraderie between the couple as well.
As Katie continues to sprinkle humor into their journey, Alex finds his rhythm again on the clay, after what many have called a relatively subdued season for him. With renewed energy and his fiancée’s unwavering (and entertaining) support, De Minaur is charging into the deeper stages of the clay-court calendar.

“Finding my feet on clay,” Alex De Minaur shares his bold prediction after crossing the Daniil Medvedev hurdle
Alex de Minaur is rising once again on the red clay of Monte Carlo, with De Minaur leading the charge majestically. The World No. 10 has been on a mission, blazing past top-tier opponents to book his spot in the QF at the Monte Carlo Masters for the second consecutive year. His latest statement win came against Daniil Medvedev in a 72-minute masterclass, leaving the former US Open champ stunned!
Riding high on confidence from their previous clash at Roland Garros, where he won 4-6, 6-2, 6-1, 6-3, the Aussie believes he’s truly finding his groove on clay, a surface he once considered his weakest.
“More than anything, I’m just finding my feet on clay. It’s taken me a while in my career, but I finally understand what I need to do to be effective on this surface. I can be dangerous on this surface, so I’m very happy to play here and start off the clay swing with some good matches. All my energy and all my effort now go to tomorrow,” De Minaur shared.

Now, he prepares for another big test in the QF, where he will face 15th seed Grigor Dimitrov. The Bulgarian, fresh from his triumph over Alejandro Tabilo, who had earlier stunned Novak Djokovic, is likely to pose a significant challenge.
Even though De Minaur is now in an elite Australian company, becoming only the 3rd Aussie in the Open Era, after Dick Crealy and John Alexander, to reach multiple Monte Carlo QFs, the question looms: can he go one step further to make it to SF? What do you think?
