Christopher Eubanks won the hearts of his peers and tennis fans alike with a string of impressive performances at SW19. The American’s fairytale run was finally cut short after a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, 6-7(4), 1-6 loss to world number 3 Daniil Medvedev in the quarterfinals. Eubanks is enjoying playing tennis irrespective of the results, as is clear from his interview with Tennis Channel.
“So I’m just kind of enjoying the journey at this point. Wherever my career takes me and I can continue to have the fun that I’ve been having, I can continue to work as hard as I’ve been working, where I end up, I end up.. But I think at this point, especially considering the fact that I spent 5 years hovering in that 220 to 150 range and playing so many challengers, it’s like man, at this point it’s just the cherry on the top.. I’m just enjoying myself..,”?he said.

Four-time grand slam champion Naomi Osaka, who has been a friend to Eubanks, resonated with his thoughts by taking a playful dig at her own career. She shared Eubanks’ interview in her latest Instagram story with the caption, “felt this except I had to take a 9 month break to realize it lol”.
Osaka began a new chapter in her life as she gave birth to a baby girl just a couple of days back. Having played her last competitive match in September last year, the Japanese star intends to stay away from the tennis court for at least the remainder of the current season.
In the past, she has been quite vocal about her on-and-off relationship with tennis and her struggles with mental health while coping with the immense pressure associated with professional tennis. Months ago, she revealed how she wanted to impart knowledge about mental health to her kid.

Osaka aims to be a responsible mother
Twenty-five-year-old Naomi Osaka has actively spoken out on the debilitating effects of mental health struggles present in the life of an athlete. She didn’t hesitate to take a step back from her playing career whenever she felt the need to. In an interview earlier this year, Osaka spoke about her desire to instill in her child the importance of mental health and self-care from a very early age. She plans to be transparent with her kid about the difficulties of life and ensure that her child grows up in an absolutely healthy environment.
Given her profound outlook and experiences on the same, Naomi Osaka will not let the pressure of competing and winning get in the way of her love for the sport once she returns to action on a tennis court. And that is exactly what her friend Christopher Eubanks is doing right now!
