‘I Teared Up’- Beyonce Fangirl Coco Gauff Recalls the Overwhelming Feeling of Catching the Pop Queen’s ‘Renaissance’ Live

Tennis players and their love for music artists go way back. From Roger Federer and Coldplay to Elina Svitolina and Harry Styles, we have seen it all in the last few months. But now, Federer and Svitolina have company in the form of Coco Gauff. The 19-year-old made an appearance at Beyonce’s latest concert in Atlanta.

Beyonce is arguably one of the biggest icons in the current music industry and her fan following is unparalleled. She has remained on top for close to two decades now and all her concert tickets are regularly sold out. Gauff, however, managed to bag one of the tickets. Later, she revealed the range of emotions she felt during the concert as the teenager made her way to attend Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour.

Monday marked the beginning of the Western and Southern Open. However, the Cincinnati rain delayed the start of proceedings. The Tennis Channel, on the other hand, found ways to keep its viewers engaged. They went around asking questions to the tennis players. When the host approached Gauff, he could simply not look past the question relating to Beyonce.

While speaking to the Tennis Channel, Gauff revealed how she felt during the Beyonce concert. The World No. 7 said, “It was really cool, I was so excited. I teared up a little bit when she came out and I have been wanting to go forever. I love her and I’m actually going to another show later this year. Think it’s one of her last stops in the tour so yeah.”

Gauff’s inner fangirl was quite visible when she spoke on the pop icon. But interestingly, the teenager was not the only tennis figure attending music concerts last weekend. The newest consultant on her team, the legendary coach Brad Gilbert, also made perfect use of his time in Montreal.

While Gauff’s music taste inclined more toward pop and R&B, Gilbert showed a fascination with heavy metal. The 62-year-old made his way to the Metallica concert, which took place in Montreal on Friday. Sharing a snap from the stadium, Gilbert was surely enjoying his time.

It seemed like the entire Gauff team had a weekend to remember. The young American sensation wishes to attend another Beyonce concert towards the end of this year. Similarly, there is also the possibility that Gilbert may also be sighted in more Metallica concerts in the upcoming months.
