Patrick Mouratoglou has spent 10 years of his life as a tennis coach for Serena Williams. He has seen various victories, faced injuries together, and been through the strangling moments of the American tennis legend’s career. Along with that, he has seen different sides of the 41-year-old tennis legend that would not quite be visible to the outer world.

In his autobiography, ‘The Coach, which he wrote alongside the 23-time Grand Slam champion, the French coach provided a lot of instances of Williams’ different moods on and off the tennis court. In the same memoir, he also shared an incident when the former world number one pulled off an angry tantrum against him.

Mouratoglou revealed how, during one of their early tennis practice sessions, the 41-year-old American tennis legend threw tantrums, giving him silent treatment out of nowhere. Following this, he took a risk and issued a rulebook regarding how he would want the Queen of Court to be around him.

He said, “At the end of the session when she was sitting on her chair and tapping away on her phone. I hit her sharply on her cap. She gave a start and looked at me. “I have some rules which have to be respected. Rule number one: when you arrive in the morning, you must say hello to me. Rule number two: when I talk to you, you must look at me and you must reply.”

However, the 23-time Grand Slam champion straightforwardly denied those allegations and even lashed out at Patrick for admitting wrongful activities. Notably, that loss was her chance to win her 24th major title. However, her chances went up in flames because of these allegations.

Nevertheless, the 41-year-old former tennis legend has always been open about her ways, her techniques, and her behavior on and off the tennis court.
