While Stefanos Tsitsipas is busy making headway through the Rolex Paris Masters, his girlfriend, Paula Badosa, is cheering for him in the background. After setting up a clash with Alexander Zverev at the upcoming quarterfinals, Tsitsipas shared his analysis of the match during an interview. However, he was not alone as Badosa crashed Tsitsipas’ post-match interview to give a ‘romantic’ insight. And the Greek star couldn’t help but approve of this sweet reaction!
Tsitsipas defeated the Argentine, Francisco Cerundolo, to make it to the quarterfinals in a battle of wills. The Greek star, who lost the first set by losing the tiebreaker, had to dig deep to stay alive in the race. During the post-match interview with the tennis channel on November 1st, 2024, Tsitsipas acknowledged that his tennis may not have been at the level he would prefer, but his “psychological behavior” helped him survive the challenge. However, they are in the city of love, and the interview could not be considered complete without Lady Luck’s presence.
Paula Badosa was the special guest invited in the end. After discussing Tsitsipas’ tennis a bit, attention turned to their love life. The couple has been quite open about their affection for each other. Hence, when the host asked Badosa, “On the Romance level, how is our boy doing?” The Spaniard didn’t shy away as she said, “He is pretty romantic. He is. I cannot complain.”

This prompted a sweet yet coy smile from her boyfriend along with a fist bump! The Greek star has nailed the boyfriend goals for the year. Whether it’s enjoying ice cream with Badosa or sharing the court, the couple always wins the hearts of fans with their beautiful chemistry. “I would be pretty surprised if you said the opposite, yeah I’ve been showing it a lot!”- said Tsitsipas as Badosa ran a hand through his hair before exiting the interview. Rightly so, they have been quite open in sharing their affectionate movements with the tennis world. Hence, not only Tsitsipas but fans would also be surprised if Badosa had claimed the opposite.

However, it’s not just the romance in Paris that has earned Stefanos Tsitsipas praises from his girlfriend. But also his way to rise from the first set loss, and win the match, despite not playing his best tennis has also made Badosa proud. She further opened up about his game play against the Argentine during the interview.
Paula Badosa in awe of Stefanos Tsitsipas’ mental side: “I’m really proud of him!”
“We have both fought hard to be among the best in the world at what we do. And we have to take advantage of it,” said Badosa after wrapping up her 2024 season. The Spaniard is not wrong. The power couple in tennis have fought all odds to stand in the position that they are in today. And there are no free lunches, as they work hard to improve every day. Hence, when Badosa was asked to share her views on Tsitsipas’ gameplay against Cerundolo, the host asked, “the room for improvement in the coming week,” where the Greek would play the German sensation, Zverev.

What’s your perspective on:
Does Tsitsipas' romantic life with Badosa fuel his on-court victories, or is it a distraction?
Have an interesting take?
Badosa praised Tsitsipas’ performance while stressing his mental side. She said, “I think the mental side, he fought every moment especially. In the first set, maybe he wasn’t feeling that great. And he did a few adjustments there and I think it was the correct ones, it was really really good… I’m really proud of him for how he fought through that, and especially the mental side.”
It certainly wasn’t an easy season for Stefanos Tsitsipas, as he suffered early-round exits at the major tournaments. Moreover, his coach (his father) bid adieu to his team a few months ago. It has been a roller coaster, with Badosa being one of the few constants by his side. This would certainly come to aid when he will face the French Open runner-up as in quarterfinal.
