Former Australian tennis player and Serena Williams’ ex-coach, Rennae Stubbs, has gone on an extraordinary attack on pickleball. Ever since the debate between pickleball and tennis started, a lot of tennis players have taken sides. While John McEnroe and Andre Agassi endorsed the paddle sport, Martina Navratilova and Stubbs don’t share the same views.
Now, the 23-time Grand Slam champion’s former coach has found the perfect opportunity to criticize pickleball. Recently, the former doubles world number one gave her strong views once again on a Pickleball tournament, calling it the dumbest game she has ever seen.

Pickleball has grown dramatically in popularity this year, with about 36.5 million people playing the sport as of now. It is estimated that by the end of the year, its popularity will definitely soar even higher. But that doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have its fair share of critics. Recently, the former Australian tennis player mocked the sport by pointing out a recent incident from a pickleball tournament.
She shared a video on Instagram that showed an altercation between pickleball players during the PPA Championships in Vegas. During the women’s doubles quarterfinals, Leigh Waters and Anna Leigh Waters played against Yana Grechkina Newell and Regina Franco Goldberg. While everything was going fine, Leigh lashed out in the most unexpected way.
Along with sharing a video of the incident, Stubbs mocked the activity on the court and even the sport itself. She wrote, “Imagine playing a sport where u get upset with your opponents for playing a shot that wins them the point! Dumbest game even.”
In addition, she made fun of Leigh Waters and wrote, “Also calm down Karen.” Her dislike for pickleball is well known, and once again, she expressed her feelings straight away by calling it the dumbest sport ever. Earlier, the former Australian tennis player also slammed other tennis greats for participating in Pickleball for money.
