The 2021 US Open champion has worked with various coaches during her both junior and professional WTA career. However, American tennis legend John McEnroe has found a problem with it. Therefore, last year, he advised Raducanu to stick with one coach who can guide her through her downs to her ups. However, Raducanu has given her verdict by ditching her fifth coach, Sebastian Sachs, last month. Her agent, Max Eisenbud has come to her rescue defending her choice.
He narrated that Raducanu and her father have followed this pattern since her run in the juniors. He stated in the Tennis Podcast, “That is not traditional and not the norm for most to win a Grand Slam and change your coach.” Adding that, this has worked the best for them, he stated, “For them, that is calm waters, having a coach for five months and going on to someone else.” Eisenbud then talked about her other coaches, Nigel Sears, Andrew Richardson, and Tim Henman, who have played their parts in shaping her gameplay.
However, he concluded that she and her father feel most comfortable with this changing pattern. He concluded with, “It’s probably going to be like that for the rest of her career.”
However, apart from the advice, John McEnroe has not shied away from bashing Raducanu’s choice of changing her coaches.
