Pere Riba got overshadowed due to Brad Gilbert in Coco Gauff’s success

In the recent podcast episode of Served with Andy Roddick, Jon Wertheim, a famous sports journalist discussed how Pere Riba was not as much credited for Gauff’s success as Gilbert. And Roddick said how it was because Gilbert outshined him.

Wertheim added, “Pere Riba was in Coco’s camp. He had come on midway through last year. He is not a coach people know about. He has got a good reputation. He works with a few players here and there. Brad comes up. Brad has a lot of experience given his coaching resume. Brad’s a lot you know. Brad’s a handful.”

Pere Riba switched his team from Coco Gauff to Qinwen Zheng right after US Open success

The former Spanish tennis player Pere Riba revealed that the reason why he had to leave Coco Gauff was because he had some issues in his family due to which he had to be there. He also shared that he tried to control a lot of things but it was out of his hand. The sudden and abrupt split with Gauff and her team left the tennis circuit in shock.
