Naomi Osaka is eager to be hailed as a champion again! She is leaving no stone unturned while giving her 100% and trying her best to create a successful comeback effort on the court. She has drawn a lot of attention with her dedication to training and her desire to return after giving birth to her daughter.

She has, however, received a lot of support from the tennis community; her close friend Chris Eubanks recently provided more information about her performance in the drills. In addition, he shared a few words from the Japanese tennis sensations team outlining her development and encouraging her to give it her all when she returns.

Recently, the 27-year-old American tennis player sat down to have a conversation with the Tennis Channel’s podcast. Along with host Steve Weissman and Prakash Amritraj, Eubanks gave an update on the four-time Grand Slam Champion’s practice going on as she prepares to take on the tennis circuit with her magic once again with her Brisbane tournament return.

The American tennis player has been friends with the Japanese sensation for a few years now, and not only did he talk about her practice progress, but he also brought in some words from her team explaining her determination to make a mark once again on the court. Eubanks said, “She’s doing phenomenally well. The ball striking has not left you can see there that she is striking the ball as clean as she ever has.”

After praising her and highlighting how her finest tennis skills are still with her, he also highlighted how being a mother has changed things for her. He stated, “Now I get the chance to speak with her coach and her team and they’re saying we’ve actually never seen Naomi this focused. She really wants to do this. As a mother, she wants to go back and show a lot of people that she can get back to Grand Slam potential.”

The Japanese tennis player has an impeccable record at the Australian Open, as she won it twice in 2019 and 2021. But the biggest question is: can the same thing happen at the 2024 Australian Open? Navratilova, in a candid interview, talked about how she is looking forward to seeing Osaka unfold once again on the court.

She mentioned, “I’m thinking by Indian Wells, early March, she’ll be back in the mix, back to being her amazing self. She won the title there in 2018. It would be great for the sport to see her back at the top.” But at the same time, she believes that by March she will get back to great form and, at the same time, can rise to the top. In addition, she also talked about how she believes that the 26-year-old should take things slow rather than going too fast and achieve her ultimate goal on the court.
