The German tennis legend retired in 1999. However, life was not gloomy for her as she was with another tennis legend Andre Agassi, who has supported her throughout their time together. Agassi also said something during Graf’s induction into the hall of fame which left her emotional and on the verge of crying.

Steffi Graf retired form the sport in 1999. She went through a freak accident which left her hamstring heavily damaged and forced her to retire. However, she wasn’t completely away from tennis as she was dating Andre Agassi at the time.
Graf was inducted into the hall of fame of tennis in 2004. Who would be a better choice than Agassi to give a speech prior to her induction? Agassi’s words showed just how much he loves his wife and put an already emotional Graf on the verge of tears. He said that Graf put down her racket quietly and pursued love and motherhood. Agassi went on to call her the ‘greatest person‘ he has known.

The words of the 8 time grand slam winner touched every heart watching the event. Graf even began her speech by appreciating what Agassi said. “Not that this occasion isn’t emotional enough, but to hear that you’re loved so much is amazing.”
