Vince McMahon shot down Chris Jericho vs Mayweather
Chris Jericho had a dream match in his mind. In the summer of 2009, Floyd Mayweather appeared on an episode of RAW as a guest host where Jericho and Mayweather clashed. But it never became a full-on bout.
In 2017, Jericho featured in Busted Open Radio Wednesday, where he recalled his plan to face Mayweather. Jericho stated, “I was like, ‘How could I have forgotten about this?’ I text that picture to Vince and I’m like, ‘Why didn’t you book Mayweather vs. Jericho? We could’ve made $700 million!’ What a missed opportunity. With him, you never pitch ideas when he’s hungry. You never pitch ideas when he’s in the room with somebody else.”

However, Jericho’s plan was shot down because Vince does not like to be pitched ideas when he’s hungry or sitting with other people. Jericho continued, “When I went to pitch it to Vince I read the room wrong and made some mistakes. Not only was there somebody else in the room, but he was also hungry and eating. It just led to this whole deck of cards falling, where had I pitched it under the rules of knowing my audience, I could have got it through.”
