The actor who played the lead role in Jurassic World and Star Lord in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, is in fact, a wrestling enthusiast. Before entering the field of acting and amassing fame in Hollywood, Chris Pratt was a wrestler.

Pratt is married to Arnold Schwarzenneger’s eldest daughter, Katherine. Being the son-in-law to The Terminator himself demands athleticism. The actor recently shared about his respect for the sport in his social media handles. Chris Pratt has acted in many lovable movies, but the actor gave credit to wrestling for pushing him through the hard times.

Married to an athletic family, with Arnold Schwarzenegger as father-in-law, Chris Pratt sheds some light on his athleticism. “Wrestling taught me that I am tougher than I realized. It pushed me past my preconceived mental and physical breaking points and forged in me an inner strength that continues to serve me”, the actor said in his recent tweet and Instagram story.

“To this day, I feel comfortable starting something physically demanding armed with the confidence I gained in wrestling that no matter how hard it’s going to get, I can finish”, said Chris Pratt. Additionally, he stated that before he got the starring role, he used to wrestle. 

Chris Pratt’s learnings from wrestling

In an interview with Trackwrestling, Chris Pratt acknowledged that he was a Washington State high school medalist in wrestling. “Wrestling medalist first, followed by actor”, he said. He had a wrestling career during his high school, where he claimed to have wrestled at Lake Stevens, in Washington.

He talked about his memories, both fun and tough. Then he shared his learnings. “An attitude of I can do anything”, he said. Additionally, he said that wrestling taught him to take on any challenge. “I’ll put my nose to the grindstone and get after it trying my best. I don’t get too scared”, claimed the actor.

Martial arts imbibe life lessons in every individual. Such is the case with the beloved ‘Raptor Trainer’. His wrestling stories have shown meaning and the support those lessons provide in the struggles of life. Ultimately, success is based on not giving up. That is what wrestling has taught Chris Pratt.
