The rumored return of CM Punk to wrestling has got everyone’s attention these days. Tony Khan, who is currently hiring almost every former WWE Superstar, is said to break the bank to bring the former WWE Champion to AEW. The wrestling world is buzzing about this rumor, and so is Green Arrow actor Stephen Amell. The Canadian actor revealed he messaged CM Punk about the rumor asking if he is about to return to wrestling or not.

Stephen Amell recently joined Oral session with Renee Paquette as the actor showed up to promote his upcoming drama show, Heels on Starz. A lifelong wrestling fan, Stephen has previously wrestled for WWE as a celebrity guest at SummerSlam 2015. The Canadian actor has also worked for many other wrestling organizations. As a result, Stephen is well caught up with all the fresh news related to wrestling.

During the show, Renee asked Stephen about CM Punk and his rumored return to in-ring wrestling. Stephen replied that the news excited him, and he even texted Punk to verify if he is indeed planning to join AEW. Amell said- “I texted him. I said ‘you coming back?’ He sent me back a photo of a cat, shrugging. He obviously saw the read notification and then he sends me a note two hours later going ‘Come on. That deserves a response. That’s a good photo!’ I said ‘how about an answer?’ He didn’t say anything

Punk doesn’t want to spoil the fuss

From these quotes from Amell, it is evident that Punk didn’t give a definitive answer to his Arrow Co-star. The whole wrestling world is waiting with patience to find if ‘The Best in the World’ will show up AEW or not. On the other hand, AEW constantly teases wrestling fans with subtle hints during their AEW Fight for the Fallen show.

Multiple reports suggest that CM Punk could make his AEW debut in Chicago as AEW has scheduled a show at Chicago called AEW The First Dance. The show is scheduled for August 20, and fans expect Punk to make his debut on the show. AEW is also heavily linked to bringing WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan to their brand as the former WWE Superstar hasn’t signed for any other wrestling promotion since his exit from WWE.
