Caroline Wozniacki defeated Simona Halep in the final of the Australian Open today. It took the Dane 3 sets and nearly 3 hours to defeat the Romanian. It was an interesting duel between the two, with Wozniacki winning the first set in a tie-break. Halep won the second set and Wozniacki took the third. With this, Wozniacki wins her first Australian Open title, and it certainly won’t be her last. Here is how Twitter reacted to the Women’s final.
Let me get this out of the way early: win or lose tonight, Caroline Wozniacki's 67 weeks at #1 is more than Venus, Clijsters, Capriati, Sanchez Vicario, Muguruza, and Goolagong COMBINED.
And then 27 WTA titles, to boot. Acting like she's been a failure is decently preposterous.

Torn. So happy for @CaroWozniacki winning her first Grand Slam title but feeling the heartbreak for @Simona_Halep. Either way, they're both amazing players to watch and Simona will get hers, don't you worry. #AusOpen https://t.co/gL5OaLAXEm
