Notably, the town of Falmouth will now honor this legend with a statue, depicting his famous “To Di World” victory pose. An 8-foot bronze statue was constructed earlier at Jamaica’s National Stadium in his honor.

Bolt’s To Di World pose, a worldwide move now

The construction of the base for the statue of Bolt will begin soon. The Trelawny Municipal Corporation will handle the smooth running of the establishment. Moreover, the statue will be mounted in Water Square, Falmouth.

Previously, Independence Park, Kingston was home to Bolt’s iconic statue. The new statue will be a replica of that. It mostly is the depiction of Bolt?s signature pose or the victory pose. Bolt’s famous “To Di World” pose became famous during the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

The idea of Bolt?s statue came into consideration following the decision of redesigning the historic fountain. The Jamaica National Heritage Trust (JNHT) endorsed the idea of the statue.

The Mayor of Falmouth, and Chairman of Trelawny Municipal Corporation, Colin Gager, confirmed the news of approval for the alterations at the historic landmark. He further stated that a new design has been made since the Corporation was against relocating the historic water fountain to build the sprinting legend?s statue. The members of the Jamaican Defense Force will carry out the construction of the statue. Additionally, the Corporation is satisfied with the current plan and has received the endorsement of the private sector and civil society groups.
