She is well past her prime and can no longer reach the heights that saw her lift five Wimbledon titles and clinch the singles gold at 2000 Sydney Olympics. However, veteran champion Venus Williams is still in tennis for the sheer love of the game.

It’s the undying passion for the sport that drives Venus to training even at 41 years of age and lead a disciplined life which, in turn, enables her to push herself against much younger rivals on the court.

She remains a huge inspiration for women not just in tennis but across disciplines and vocations, and it’s her childlike enthusiasm and energy that seldom fails to surprise her fans.

Venus Williams shared a clip where she is seen dancing to a song at practice

And, the latest clip that Venus has shared on her official Instagram page gives followers a peek into her ever-youthful, enthusiastic, and, dare one say, playful side.

More than anything else, it shows how the seven-time Grand Slam champion derives boundless joy being out and about on a practice court and doing what she does best.

The clip shows Venus, in full tennis gear and with a racquet in hand, jiving to a catchy number playing in the background.

What the video tells you at first glance is that Venus is nowhere close to being a tennis star for whom practice and training have become a drag, a burden they are no longer willing to shoulder.

Rather, the clip gives off the vibe of a champion who would stare down an opponent and say ‘bring it on!’

Venus tagged the post with a message, which represents her motto in life. It says, quite simply, “Work hard, play harder (emojis).”

The clip has already fetched her a plethora of ‘likes’, including one from the WTA.

On the career front, however, Venus hasn’t had plenty to shout about this season. Coming into the Australian Open, a Grand Slam that has remained elusive in her storied career, the champion got through to the second round but couldn’t progress beyond.
