After the completion of the Women’s Ashes, players across the globe are ready to take part in the Women’s Cricket Super League which is also known as Kia Super League. The Women’s Cricket Kia Super League is operated by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) where six franchise teams take place. They are Lancashire Thunder, Southern Vipers, Loughborough Lightning, Western Storm, Yorkshire Diamonds and Surrey Stars. The tournament is scheduled to take place from August 6.

After having placed at the bottom of the points table in the first two seasons, Lancashire Thunder have nearly missed a semi-final seat in the last year. They won 5 games out of 10 and placed fourth with 21 points. With the former captain Danielle Hazell’s retirement, the team will get the new leader in Kate Cross.

They have also got a new coach in the Kia Super League 2019 season. Mark McInnes has been named the head coach of the team who will take over from Alex Blackwell, the former Australia captain. The team have a couple of key players like Kate Cross, Alex Hartley, Sophie Ecclestone, Sophia Dunkley, Sune Luus, Tahlia McGrath etc. Moreover, India T20I captain Harmanpreet Kaur is also a part of the team.
