World No. 1 Novak Djokovic has been breaking all the records in recent times. The dominance displayed by him in the current season has never been witnessed in such a fashion. He has won the first three Grand Slam events, in Melbourne, Paris, and London this season. 

Yesterday, Novak Djokovic won his third-round match against Japanese player Kei Nishikori. Although he lost the opening set, the Serb managed to find a way and claim the next three sets. Interestingly, there were quite a few notable supporters for the World No. 1 player from Serbia.

Hollywood superstar Hugh Jackman was one of the first people to congratulate Novak by posting a story on Instagram with a message that read, “Let’s Go.” Another interesting supporter was Djokovic’s wife, Jelena, who wore a wolf t-shirt that had her husband’s face in the form of a shadow.

Novak Djokovic moves into the second week at US Open 2021

Reflecting on tennis, Djokovic faced his first real big test yesterday. Although he had beaten Novak 16 times prior to yesterday’s match, the experience and shot-making of Nishikori are of the finest quality. With that win, the World No. 1 player will now face local boy Jenson Brooksby.

Going by this season so far, Novak began by winning his 18th Grand Slam title in Melbourne. After that, he came to Paris and won the French Open for the second time in his career. During the event, he beat Rafael Nadal in the semifinal, which was one of the biggest wins this season.

After that, he won the Wimbledon Championships for the sixth time in his career. In doing so, he has now equaled Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal on 20 Grand Slam titles each. We wish him the very best for the final Grand Slam event of the season.
