Angel Reese's Barbie Night vs. Caitlin Clark's old-school style—Which approach do you think wins the fans?

Every time Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark have hit the hardwood against each other, it has been a hit, and today’s showdown is no different. Even before they locked horns on the court, the game was sold out with a record for the most expensive tickets ever in the WNBA. That’s the kind of hype Reese and Clark brought to Wintrust Arena. To make this night even more memorable, Chicago Sky made the night Barbie-themed for Reese. As special as it was, Reese arrived in her illustrious Reebok update—something opposite to Caitlin Clark.

On August 31st, the Indiana Fever entered Wintrust Arena for the final battle of the season against the Chicago Sky. While Caitlin Clark and company came in with two wins and a loss, Sky will attempt to even the score with another win today. To make this night memorable, Reese showed up in her newest Reebok Engine A. However, Clark stuck to her old tradition and made an appearance with her Nike Kobe 6 Protro PE.

For Caitlin Clark, Kobe’s shoes are a priority, and this isn’t something new for her. She wore Kobe 6 PEs for the 2024 WNBA All-Star weekend as well. In fact, Clark hasn’t been shy about her affinity for Bryant, wearing different versions of his kicks since she began her illustrious WNBA career after being picked No. 1 in the draft.

According to Nick DePaula, the Indiana Fever rookie has had a sneaker rotation for her WNBA rookie season. She has worn Bruce Lee Kobe 5s, Grinch Kobe 6s, Italian Camo Kobe 6s, and All-Star Kobe 6s. Moving on, the 22-year-old Iowa native seems to have a clear motive to make an impact with impressive performances while wearing her Nike Kobes. But did Caitlin Clark do it in today’s battle?

Caitlin Clark’s impressive play goes on…

Of course, Caitlin Clark did! In just 24 minutes of gameplay, she contributed 21 points with 4 rebounds and 9 assists, and that was before the third quarter even concluded. On the other hand, Angel Reese looked a bit off on the court. In the same duration, she managed to score only 5 points with 7 rebounds.

Well, Clark is way ahead of Angel Reese in terms of performance. While Reese is excelling in rebounds, Clark is making waves with three-pointers, scoring, and even assists. For her, record-breaking is slowly becoming a habit. Even in the last game against the Connecticut Sun, she etched her name in the record books for most three-pointers by a rookie, knocking down 86 shots.

In the process, she overtook Rhyne Howard, who had 85 three-pointers during the 2022 campaign. For Caitlin Clark, this isn’t the only record she has shattered; it’s one of seven she has broken in her rookie season. From assists to scoring, Clark has dominated it all.
