There’s a certain respect that is afforded to every athlete, every coach, and every person. Basketball is a game, and rivalries should be left on the court. But that’s not always the case. Some people hold bad blood, and some create issues that need not be there. Such is the case with one of the most decorated women’s college basketball coaches of all time.
The situation with Wes Moore, the NC State coach, is quite weird. He was pictured with a fan holding a controversial banner after the Syracuse game. “Angel Reese Stinks!” The text read, with Moore smiling and posing beside it. Why the photograph is so strange, however, is that Reese has absolutely nothing to do with NC State or Notre Dame. The LSU alum has been hooping her heart out in the WNBA and Unrivaled all season, and hasn’t interacted with college basketball in any capacity.
A user on X called out Wes Moore for promoting undeserved hatred towards Angel Reese. The fan tried giving the Wolfpack head coach the benefit of the doubt, but he issued no apologies.

So last night while doing the postgame of the Syracuse win vs NC State on Cuse Sports Talk, I came across this picture of NC State Women’s Head Coach Wes Moore taking a picture with a fan holding a sign that says “Angel Reese Stinks”…. cont’d https://t.co/k2RnC5d3bz pic.twitter.com/9YxJrPzUOH

The original poster was quite upset with Moore, and with the hatred towards Angel Reese in general. “Now, Angel Reese has no connections to NC State, no connection to Notre Dame and no connection to the ACC conference.” The Facebook post said, asking why everyone’s worried about the Rose BC star. While Angel Reese willingly took on a villain role during college and her entrance to the league, unnecessary hate does not make sense. “The amount of real estate that Angel Reese holds in some of these ppl’s heads needs to be studied.
There needs to be some certain level of respect that is afforded to everyone. Irrespective of the role that Reese has taken up, she is a talented player who focuses on her game. It was interesting to see the Rose BC star react to this situation, however.
Angel Reese reacts to NC State trolls
Angel Reese, following an absolutely phenomenal game in the Unrivaled 3×3 league, reacted to the pitiful attack on her. The LSU legend is quite used to hate comments being directed her way, and was high on the confidence that her recent performances had given her.
On X, she posted two tweets that let fans know what she thought. “Rent free. LITERALLY.” and “Condos in yall head. LITERALLY.” As she reacted to the needless hatred against her. Although the star was unfazed by the hate which was evident in her performances in Unrivaled, it was still quite out of pocket.

Her words are valid, considering that the entire narrative has been biased against her since her victory against Caitlin Clark in the NCAA championship. Even during Reese’s incredible streak of double-doubles, the majority of the WNBA fandom stood against her.

The way that she is treated has to end, and people have to recognize what kind of a star that they are missing out on. Her 22 pt 21 reb game was legendary in the player-owned 3×3 league, and Reese has been known to do it on the regular. Angel Reese has made her name known, and she’s here to stay! And people are gonna have to learn to live with that.
