Last year, Stephen Curry handpicked the rising basketball prodigy, Azzi Fudd, to be the face of his burgeoning sports empire, SC30. Curry, a 4x NBA Champion and two-time MVP, could have chosen any player in the league or the college basketball scene, as his reach extends far beyond the confines of the NBA. However, he decided to anoint Fudd as the inaugural athlete to join SC30, a carefully calculated move.
Recently, a year after bagging Stephen Curry’s exclusive loyalty, Azzi Fudd has her eyes on following the 4x NBA Champion to the Bay Area.

“She is the next face of women?s basketball,” Stephen Curry told Boardroom when asked about his decision to sign Azzi Fudd and make her the first to join his brand, SC30. While the financial details of the deal were not made public, it is a multidimensional deal with Curry personally mentoring Fudd. She will also receive opportunities for growth and support on and off the court as per the company’s release.
Notably, Curry and Fudd have a bond that transcends their professional relationship. Before she attained national fame as the Gatorade Player of the Year in 2019, Fudd was one of only two female athletes selected to Curry’s Select Camp when she was only 15 years old in 2018. Curry was immediately drawn to her because of her shooting skills.
He said, ?She was the best shooter at camp by far, she got out there (and) played with the boys (in) a couple of scrimmages,? Curry revealed while speaking to Boardroom. ?Then she came back the next year and she was hurt,?and she had a boot on and she won the three-point contest in a boot.?
And recently Fudd hinted at following Curry to the courts in the Bay Area.
The WNBA returns to the Bay Area in 2025 with an expansion franchise, which is the league’s first expansion since 2008. The famous Chase Center will serve as their home court, while their administrative offices will be located in the Warriors’ former downtown Oakland practice facility.
The official account of the new team, the ‘wnbagoldenstate’ uploaded a video of Stephen Curry welcoming the new WNBA team to the Bay Area. “Yo, just wanna welcome the WNBA to the Bay Area. Looking forward to having y’all. Can’t wait to see y’all thrive at the highest level. Let’s get it!” said Curry.
Notably, Azzi Fudd commented, “?? @stephencurry30.” Could she be joining this WNBA team in 2025?
While it may be too early to confirm, Azzi Fudd will become eligible for the WBNA draft in the 2025 season. Meanwhile, Fudd will be returning to play for the Huskies after a knee injury this season.
Azzi Fudd returns following her injury
Azzi Fudd is now gearing up for a thrilling 2023?24 basketball season after her sophomore year was marred by a knee injury that limited her to just 13 games. Recognized for her blazing-fast and silky 3-pointers, Fudd is now healthy and prepared to have a significant impact on the Huskies. Even with the difficulties of her injuries, Fudd was still able to average a remarkable 15.1 points per game in her sophomore year. She begins the upcoming season with great expectations now that her health has fully recovered, and UConn is in a strong position to contend for the national championship.
However, Azzi Fudd is not only concerned with her personal goals. Fudd said talking about the upcoming season’s expectations, “This team has been through so much the last few years, with injuries and not taking anything for granted. But we are not just out here like aw, I?m just happy to play. We still have goals we still have something to reach for. High expectations. I think that?s always in the back of everyone?s mind, it?s kind of the unspoken thing. But we?ve been working really hard everywhere, weight room, training room, on the floor. So,?I mean, like I said, it?s an unspoken thing.?
