Will Dwyane Wade's advice be the game-changer Angel Reese needs to dominate with the Chicago Sky?

Angel Reese is getting ready to host NBA legend Dwyane Wade on her podcast next. The Sky rookie shares a special bond with the former pro, including their Chicago connection. Wade, who was born in Chi-Town and is also the part owner of the Sky, has often expressed his awe of Reese. But before the two sit down for an official conversation, the Chicago Sky rookie revealed how ‘The Flash’ gave her some valuable advice!

In an interview with ‘Chicago State of Mind Sports’, Reese revealed“I was talking to D-Wade a couple of days ago, and he was just telling me the mindset of just being able to switch that anchor and not always be a scorer. Because when I came out of college I was averaging a double-double, I was averaging 20 and, what, 10-20-10. So being able to come into this league knowing that it wasn’t going to be easy for me, and kinda going to the things that I knew I could be really dominated in, and something that I know that can get me over the edge…”

She continues, “So just being able to come into the league as a great rebounder, but defense is something I really wanted to focus on and tap into.” As far as numbers are concerned, Reese was averaging 13.6 points and a league-leading 13.1 rebounds per game. Some have even considered her worthy of being in the All-Defensive Team.

Before Angel Reese even joined the W, Dwyane Wade had said of her, “She’s owning it. She is owning who she is. She wants to be great, and she wants to be a great teammate.” Now that he’s also a part owner of his hometown team, the support for the Sky and Reese in particular has only increased. On this Thursday’s episode of the “Unapologetically Angel” podcast, the 22-year-old will discuss all things basketball with the Hall of Famer.

Interestingly, it’s not just D-Wade who’s an Angel Reese fan, his wife is too!

Gabrielle Union can’t help but be impressed with Angel Reese, and it’s not just her basketball

Although the Wades don’t officially live in the ‘Windy City’ anymore, Dwyane Wade will always be a Chicagoan at heart. And while Gabrielle Union was born in Omaha, she also loves watching Angel Reese play. When a fan recently uploaded closeup pictures of the Sky forward on X, with the caption, “FACE CARD,” the actress reposted it with her own caption, “Even better in person 💖”

The X post quickly went viral and has now amassed more than 363.1k views, even earning a retweet from the WNBA star herself. In addition, Reese also took to her social media to post a selfie with the actress and captioned it as “DROP DEAD GORG @gabunion.”

Not only that, but Dwyane Wade had also posted a picture of his daughter Kaavia sitting on Angel Reese’s lap on Instagram, another post that fans couldn’t get enough of. And of course, they got Kaavia the seventh overall pick’s Reebok collection as soon as it was launched. As Reese now closes the regular season after missing the last 6 Sky games due to an injury, her off-court pursuits will pick up in the off-season as she heals. Who knows, fans might get to see even more NBA stars join in.

Stay tuned for more such updates and join us for the exciting second episode of the “Dual Threat Show” as our host BG12 sits down with Georgia Bulldogs star and Mountain West All-Freshman Team Selection, Asia Avinger.
