All hail the future GOAT, A’ja Wilson! The Las Vegas Aces star just made history by surpassing Jewell Loyd’s single-season scoring record of 939 points at 956. It was a thrilling 86-75 win over the Indiana Fever, and Wilson’s 27 points by the end of the game scripted history. And just as Wilson’s team and fans were celebrating, so was Bam Adebayo.
The NBA star and the WNBA powerhouse have long inspired rumors of a romance, though neither ever comes out to confirm things. With his latest tweet, he simply wrote, “U’nanimous.” A unanimous choice for MVP? The GOAT of the season? Who knows? But it’s certainly clear that the apostrophe after the U might just be for Wilson, who stylizes everything after her name — ‘A’ja’.
Journalist Noa Dalzell also reposted the tweet from Adebayo with just “😭😭” emojis in the caption. For the so-called couple that has rarely been spotted in public but is often found teasing each other on social media, seems like everyone has caught on! And yet, Wilson’s on-court performance still shines.

This broken record was a long time coming, or should we say, the crowning of a new queen. And Adebayo was unintentionally present when the Aces made an X post in celebration. “𝐁𝐀𝐌! 💥 THERE IT IS. @_ajawilson22 has the single greatest scoring season in @WNBA history! 👏 #ALLINLV” The first word in the caption caught fan attention for obvious reasons!
U’nanimous.

The rumored couple has been sending fans into a frenzy for months, with the latest instance occurring in Miami. A’ja Wilson was present for the Miami Heat player being awarded the Key to Miami-Dade County. Even the Aces team joined in on the fun as Sydney Colson shared the ceremony on X with the cheeky, “If I send you this, just know I’m finna tell on you.” Chelsea Gray chimed in to say “I’m weakkk 😂😂😂”
Even Wilson herself reacted to the post with a gif of a man giving a side-eye. Now, while these two might be choosing to keep their personal life private, these small glimpses are enough to send the rumor mill churning.

“It was just lingering, lingering, lingering…”: A’ja Wilson is relieved to finally have the record off her back
At the pace A’ja Wilson is going, she could very well be the first WNBA player to record 1000 points in a season. With four games remaining in the regular season, it almost seems doable, especially as the ankle injury concerns from 2019 have finally been overshadowed by this record. She is currently averaging 27.2 points per game. With this, she on pace to complete the season with 1065 points.
“It feels great because now people will stop talking about it,” Wilson told ESPN after the game. “Felt like it was just like lingering, lingering, lingering, so I’m glad that we got it done.”

The 2x MVP just missed a game vs. the Liberty because of an ankle injury scare. As she watched from the sidelines, fans wondered if she was done for the season. But of course, it’s A’ja Wilson. Three days later, she broke and set a new historical record in the league, and there are no major issues with her ankle so far.
With the playoffs fast approaching, Las Vegas can hopefully continue this performance and lift their third championship trophy, a feat not seen since 1999!
