After all the positivity of the upcoming WNBA season, Kelsey Plum’s personal life has hit a rough patch. According to People, the WNBA star has filed for divorce after one year of marriage. Darren Waller, the NFL star, and Plum were considered a power couple of the NFL and WNBA. The duo kept their relationship and the marriage quiet until the announcement on Instagram. But now Plum has deleted all those posts.

It came as a surprise as the Las Vegas Aces star had uploaded a cryptic post on her social media. She took to X and tweeted, “ I’m devastated. I walked through fire for that man, but now I see it’s time to go. God has given me an incredible life, and I’m truly so grateful for the profound love from my family and friends. One day I’ll share my story, today is not that day. Thank you for the grace to process my pain, to forgive and move forward. Today and everyday I will continue to choose joy. Much love KP.”

Plum had the same message on her Instagram story, and soon after the message People confirmed about the divorce. Plum and Waller filed a joint petition for divorce in Clark County, Nevada. Earlier in January this year Waller posted himself dancing to a break-up video song on Tiktok with caption “Stay strong, kings!!! #fyp #explore #men #heartbroken #music #vibes.” Later explaining he was goofing and there was no issue in their relationship.

On the other hand, Kelsey Plum’s WNBA contract is not the highest. According to her contract she’ll make $200,000 as base salary for the next two years. There is a six way tie from 17th position as multiple players make $200,000, but according to Spotrac she is 21st on that list.
