WNBA stars have been making waves with their off-court endeavors recently! After Angel Reese’s standout performance in the celebrity flag football game ahead of the Super Bowl, her rival Caitlin Clark quickly followed suit. Clark, who recently declined an invitation to participate in the NBA All-Star three-point contest, is now paving the way for women’s athletes with a groundbreaking collaboration with Nike.
Caitlin Clark is all set to appear in Nike’s first Super Bowl ad since 1998 alongside Sabrina Ionescu and A’ja Wilson from the W. Other elite athletes like Jordan Chiles, Aryna Sabalenka, and Sha’Carri Richardson will also be making an appearance.
The advertisement is scheduled to run for 90 seconds, three times the length of a normal Super Bowl ad. Not only will Nike feature these high-level athletes, but they have also got recent Grammy winner Doechii to narrate the ad. It intends to give a beautiful message of resilience and defiance, for women to rise beyond the limitations set upon them.

This move from Nike aims to reinvigorate sales and brand interest, while making the most of the popularity surge that women’s sports are going through as of now. In a now deleted post on X, the original poster of the news talked about how Nike is struggling. Their advertisement is a high-stakes gamble so that they can try and recover from the loss of market shares that Nike recently went through. With huge names on board like Caitlin Clark, Sha’Carri Richardson, and Jordan Chiles, it looks like they’ll accomplish what they’re aiming for.
Caitlin Clark’s Super Bowl Exploits
Angel Reese raised the bar for WNBA stars during this NFL post-season by coaching one of the celebrity flag football teams. This collaboration, combined with her record-breaking McDonald’s endorsement deal ensured the league’s presence in the Super Bowl. However, Caitlin Clark is not far behind.
