Criticized and popularized, Angel Reese has seen both sides of being famous. However, what keeps her in the hot topics is the fact that she is unapologetically herself. And that involved being versatile, and still the worst nightmare on the court. So, with so much talent, confidence, and many people to look up to, what role has Lisa Leslie played for the Sky’s rookie?

Adding yet another name to her inspirations and idols, Angel Reese addressed who her fashion icon is. She said, “I don’t think we had the resources, obviously, before the NIL and stuff. I’ve always watched Lisa Leslie. She’s always had her lashes, nails, hair, and all that stuff done. So, just being able to look at that.”

Reese also told the press that showing her personalities and being herself is not a recent development for her. Remembering her childhood days, Angel Reese said, “For me, I’ve always loved taking pictures, I’ve always loved modeling. Growing up, my grandma always just had my lashes and hair and stuff done up. I always felt like I wanted to be the pretty girl on the court. But like, I wanted to also be a dawg and have that dawg mentality. I just wanted to continue that.”

Angel Reese also had a message for the world: “Let the women understand and know like you can do both. You can be girly on the court and have lashes and nails and hair done. It’s never personal but like on court, I’m about my business. But off the court, we can have some fun.” Preaching and practicing a great balance on her shoulders, Reese has definitely given multiple examples to the world. One of her most recent stints was going to the Met Gala within one hour before her home debut.

May 6, 2024, was a huge day for Chi-Town Barbie. Not just because it was her 22nd birthday, but also because she got to attend the Met Gala. However, the timeline for the No. 5 forward got quite busy. Within 24 hours of flying the Big Apple, Reese had to try taking down the Liberty in her home debut. As a result, the basketball world went against the SEC Defensive Player of the Year. Nevertheless, she had everything prepared.

Sending a powerful message to the ones who don’t believe in her, she took it to her X account after the huge win on Tuesday. Reese noted, “So now y’all can delete them drafts & tweets saying I shouldn’t have gone to the met gala & I can’t do both. I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST, WHO STRENGTHENS ME.”
