Things have been going well for the Indiana Fever, but now they’ve found themselves in an unprecedented situation off the court that has caught everyone’s attention. It’s a time to celebrate once again as Caitlin Clark’s teammate, Lexie Hull, has announced her decision to get engaged! The W community is buzzing with excitement for Lexie, and her big news seems to have put a temporary pause on the fierce rivalry between two arch rivals for a bit as well!

Hull announced her engagement to Will Matthiessen with a black-and-white photo on her Instagram post, flashing her ring and keeping it simple with just an emoji as a caption. The two met as student-athletes at Stanford, and now, this engagement caps off a big year for Hull!  Not only did she make her mark with the Fever, but she also helped the Rose Basketball Club secure the inaugural Unrivaled 3×3 league title in March. A year to remember!

Being teammates with both Reese and Clark has its perks! Both the Bayou Barbie and the Fever superstar couldn’t contain their excitement for Lexie. Clark posted, “YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYY SO HAPPY,” while Reese chimed in with, “GO BIG LEXIEEEEEE SO HAPPY FOR YOU.” Looks like the arch rivals are collectively celebrating the cute moment.

These two have given us some unforgettable moments on the court. Back in 2023, Reese and Clark went head-to-head in the national title game–LSU vs. Iowa. It wasn’t just a showdown; it was a record-breaking one. Nearly 10 million people tuned in, making it the most-watched women’s college basketball game ever.

Plenty of fans have likened the Clark-Reese rivalry to the iconic Magic vs. Bird battles–but this one might’ve taken the intensity up a notch with the trash talk. Both the Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky are set to play a preseason game against Brazil this May–but here’s the special part! The Fever will take the court at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, and the Sky will play at the legendary Pete Maravich Assembly Center. You do know what that means right? Both Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese are both heading back home. It’s going to be an emotional return for the two stars as they suit up on the same floors where they became college basketball royalty!

Caitlin Clark gave her stamp of approval for the Fever’s preseason game in May with just one word. When the team’s official X account posted, “Iowa, are you ready?” Clark simply replied, “Yes.” Short, sweet, and enough to make the Hawkeye Nation go crazy. The hype was real! Tickets for the game at Carver-Hawkeye Arena sold out in just 45 minutes of going live.

Down South, Reese, too, couldn’t hide her excitement about returning home, saying, “It will be amazing to return to Baton Rouge, a community that means so much to me. LSU was instrumental in preparing me for the WNBA and I can’t wait to hit the court in front of both Tigers and Sky fans.”
